Salary starts at $34.21 at Step 1 plus an afternoon shift allowance of $0.71 per hour and 16% in lieu of benefits

Summary of Duties:

Reporting to the Director of Facilities or designate the Painter is responsible for the performance of a full range of finishing duties (drywall finishing covering paints varnishes lacquers epoxy stains wall covering and vinyl installation) for the district (interior/exterior of buildings grounds furniture); and working as a member of a team to ensure the timely resolution of general district Facilities requirements in accordance with applicable regulations policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 Graduation
  • Certification as a Journeyman Painter and/or Plasterer
  • Valid BC Drivers License
  • Ability to analyse interpret and use judgment in the resolution of problems
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
  • Good interpersonal and communication (oral) skills
  • Demonstrated ability in a variety of functions within the construction industry
  • Self-starter with ability to organize daily tasks work independently and as a member of a team
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned duties (including the assembling and the climbing of ladders and scaffolds)
