Salary starts at $34.21 at Step 1 plus an afternoon shift allowance of $0.71 per hour and 16% in lieu of benefits

Summary of Duties:

Reporting to the Director of Facilities or designate the Painter is responsible for the performance of a full range of finishing duties (drywall finishing covering paints varnishes lacquers epoxy stains wall covering and vinyl installation) for the district (interior/exterior of buildings grounds furniture); and working as a member of a team to ensure the timely resolution of general district Facilities requirements in accordance with applicable regulations policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Grade 12 Graduation
Certification as a Journeyman Painter and/or Plasterer
Valid BC Drivers License
Ability to analyse interpret and use judgment in the resolution of problems
Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
Good interpersonal and communication (oral) skills
Demonstrated ability in a variety of functions within the construction industry
Self-starter with ability to organize daily tasks work independently and as a member of a team
Physical ability to perform the assigned duties (including the assembling and the climbing of ladders and scaffolds)
