This specific position entails the teaching of Spanish in preparation for participation in authentic communication success in college and the requisite standardized exams -- AP Spanish Language and Culture. The precise assignment for this position has yet to be determined and will depend on the qualifications and background of the person to be hired as well as the staffing needs of the addition the faculty member will serve as an advisor and fulfill all regular duties and commitments required of CCSC staff.A CCSC Spanish Teacher can expect to:-Assume personal responsibility for the academic progress of all students-Work collaboratively to create and implement a program of study that is intellectually challenging-Work with a diverse student body from Cambridge Boston and surrounding cities-Promote a school-wide culture of respect using the principles of restorative justice -Align curriculum with ACTFLs World Readiness Standards for Learning Languages and the MA Foreign Language Curriculum Frameworks-Design and implement lessons that promote growth in students language proficiency -Serve as an Advisor to a small group of students-Engage with families regularly to support students learning and well-being -Participate in myriad forms of professional development as scheduled for all facultyQualifications:-BA or BS required; appropriate graduate coursework preferred-Teaching experience in a similar setting preferred-Ability to teach any level of Spanish (Spanish 1- AP Spanish)-If not certified in MA charter school teachers must pass the relevant MA teacher tests (MTEL) by the end of their first year at CCSCCompensationSalaries on CCSCs teacher salary schedule are based on number of years of experience and education level with up to 5 full years of full-time lead-teaching experience at U.S. K-12 schools honored.
