Job Summary
Role Overview
Manage and maintain a global Tacton based Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) platform which alongside Salesforce
SolidWorks and IFS ERP is one of the primary business applications for IMI Process Automation. Tacton CPQ is the
primary sales application for IMI Process Automation and allows sales across the business to select size configure
and price the portfolio of products and services quoted by IMI. Work with and implement the needs from the three key
CPQ stakeholder groups:
1. Sales (primary user of the CPQ application)
2. Engineering (primary owner of the data in CPQ)
3. Senior Leadership (direct global sales strategies through CPQ).
Key Responsibilities
Product Integration
Create digital models of IMI Process Automation products and services in Tacton CPQ application.
Define and build out optimal model architecture based on defined product specifications details and option
tables.
Develop JavaScript functions (either original or based on existing alternate language code) for product sizing
product performance or product costing calculations. Develop additional JavaScript functions for string
manipulation and/or data management.
Build clean optimal and user-friendly application UI.
Guide product models through alpha and beta testing through official release working closely with user
testers during beta phase to ensure all feedback is captured and properly addressed prior to product release.
Adhere closely to existing architectural blueprints and guidelines to ensure all models maintain a consistent
structure and style regardless of developer.
Product & Application Maintenance
Scope develop implement and test updates and improvements to the CPQ application to enhance efficiency
effectiveness and user satisfaction.
Perform periodic updates to already released product models. Add/remove options update Javascripts
update pricing tables.
Develop best practices user guides deliver mentoring and ad-hoc training for new users or in support of
working practices.
Support Service Now tickets & bug fixes.
CPQ Team Coordination
Work closely with overall project manager to ensure tasks are well defined and the project schedule is
maintained.
Collaborating with geographically and culturally diverse senior business stakeholders to bring innovations to
the business.
Attend weekly scrum calls to report on status of all open tasks.
Requirements
A degree in engineering or computer science subject (or equivalent through experience or professional
qualifications).
0-2 years experience in any CPQ tool (Preferably Tacton).
Strong experience in Coding (JavaScript python etc.)
Experience with ticket-based software development environments (ServiceNow preferred) and procedures is
a plus.
Experience in using version control systems (e.g. Git) to manage codebase and collaborate effectively with
other developers.
Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Knowledge of Tacton Studio and Tacton Admin will be ideal.
Ability to learn quickly It is not expected for the candidate to have experience with either TC Studio or the
Tacton web based CPQ application as these are very specialized tools. The first 4-5 weeks in the position
will be devoted to training on these platforms. At the end of this training period the candidate will be expected
to have achieved sufficient understanding to assume ownership of project tasks.
Ability to multi-task As noted in the job responsibilities the role is likely to involve many task streams
occurring in parallel. At any given time the role may require addressing raised service tickets while
simultaneously supporting one or more long-term product model build projects.
Ability to stay within the lines The CPQ project is a very large initiative with many contributors. To ensure
quality and consistency in the final product all contributors will be expected to adhere to predefined guidelines
concerning model structure and JavaScript format.
Strong organizational skills All aspects of the project from entire product models to individual service
tickets may be shared between multiple contributors. Each contributor must ensure their work is organized
enough to be shared with and understood by other team members.
Strong attention to detail Product models can be very large and detailed. User requests can have many
layers of nuance. Candidates must seek to achieve total understanding of a task prior to commencement to
ensure no detail is missed to avoid/minimize rework.
Openness to learning new technologies and industry trends with a proactive approach to continuous
improvement.
Strong listening & communication skills (verbal and written) There are many people involved in the CPQ
project each with varying degrees of technical and code many cases it will be necessary
to explain (verbally and in writing) processes or solutions to different some cases the audience
will be fully versed in CPQ coding and other cases the audience may be laypersons.
Good to have
Experience in Python / Java / / SQL Queries is preferred.
Knowledge of IMI product portfolio is a plus.
Willingness to work non-standard hours. The CPQ project is a global initiative. Candidates can be expected to
work with project integration teams based in multiple time zones: Asia Pacific Europe and the Americas (both
east and west coast).
Knowledge of product sizing configuration and costing is a plus.
