Job Summary
Job Description
Reporting to the Food Service Manager this position will perform duties as per the Dietary Aide Profile and as a fill-in will focus on duties around: Preparing food including special diets assisting the cook in food preparation. Delivery of food and supplies to households as well as having a role in doing daily dishes and Kitchen cleaning. Must be able to work weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Food Service experience an asset
- Food Safety Course.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Be an active listener who projects a friendly problem-solving approach and demeanor.
- Good organizing planning prioritizing time management and multi-tasking skills
- Proven experience in taking personal responsibility for seeking information from various sources enables others learning through sharing experiences coaching and mentoring.
- Works independently as well as collaboratively within the team
- Able to work weekends up to full-time hours.
- Excellent attendance required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Stock Household with daily supplies replenish condiments.
- Stock Condiment and Paper Stations for Bistro
- Stock the Showcase Fridge with sandwiches salads desserts etc. according to Par List
- Serves food to residents according to individual diets and preferences. Observes time limits for meal serving. Maintains food at proper serving temperature.
- Is understanding of all therapeutic diets.
- Clears plates and trays loads and operates dishwasher. Cleans pots pans and cooking utensils as per procedure.
- Participates in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food including leftovers.
- Adheres to established departmental policies procedures regarding quality assurance fire safety environment and infection control.
- Participates in facility meetings as assigned. Attends in-service education programs including all mandatory and on-line in-services.
