A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience education certifications and state seniority relative to others performing substantially similar work. While most salary offers are made within the posted range occasionally an offer is made below or above it based on this salary analysis.

Description of Job

Work Environment:

This position is full-time and is hybrid.
  • Extended hours during the evening or the weekend may be required by business needs.
  • Up to 5% Travel requiredwithin thestate of Colorado for Meetings/Training.
  • Occasional travel out of state including some overnights.
  • A Remote (Home) office is required.
  • Required to report to the work locationper business needs.

Position Summary:

Join our team as a Nutrition Data Manager! In this role you will lead data strategy governance reporting and evaluation for the School Nutrition Unit. You will develop and maintain data systems dashboards and processes; conduct program analyses provide actionable insights to support leadership and program decisions and train staff and sponsors on data use and best practices. This position collaborates across teams to ensure data accuracy compliance and efficiency while driving innovation in data management and evaluation.


The ideal candidate has knowledge of child nutrition programs strong data analytics and project management skills experience with data management and evaluation and a passion for supporting sponsors who feed kids and strengthen school nutrition programs statewide.

The final salary is anticipated to fall within the posted salary range; however it may be higher or lower depending on the preferred candidates knowledge skills abilities and other qualifications while considering internal equity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Data Strategy and Governance:Develop implement and maintain standardized data policies procedures and governance practices to ensure accurate secure and consistent data collection reporting and compliance across the unit.

  • ManageData Systems and Reporting:Design maintain and optimize dashboards visualizations and reporting tools in platforms such as Tableau Smartsheets Excel and Google Sheets to support program leadership and legislative decision-making.

  • Conduct Program Evaluation and Analysis:Collect clean and analyze data to assess program performance identify trends and provide actionable insights to inform strategic planning risk assessments and process improvements.

  • ProvideTechnical Assistance and Training:Train and support staff sponsors and stakeholders on data systems evaluation tools and best practices to ensure accurate data use and effective program evaluation.

  • Collaborate and Innovate:Partner with internal and external teams to resolve data inconsistencies streamline processes and implement emerging best practices in data management reporting and evaluation.


Occasional in-state travel is required to provide technical assistance and attend meetings. Occasional out-of-state travel is required to attend conferences (including some overnight travel).

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience Only:

Seven (7) years of professional relevant experience indata management or analysis and management of business processes and systems.

OR

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in business information technology management data analytics public administration or a related field AND three (3) years of professional experience in data management or analysis and management of business processes and systems.



Qualifications for Success in the Position:
  • Experience developing data infrastructure for complex programmatic data.

  • Experience in designing and implementing program evaluation studies.

  • Experience generating Tableau dashboard reports.

  • Strong understanding of data management.

  • Experience working with large complex datasets.

  • Demonstrated track record of leveraging data and quantitative analysis to inform and drive strategic direction and decision-making in government nonprofit or public sector organizations.

  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and project management capabilities.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel.

  • Ability to analyze complex information and develop strategic plans to address identified issues.

  • Ability to prioritize and organize work to accommodate and meet the changing needs of the department and meet deadlines.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with child nutrition programs or other federally funded education/nutrition programs.

  • Experience in government data management fiscal accountability systems or compliance oversight.

  • Experience with SQL R or Python or equivalent analytics tools and Tableau or Power BI.
