Our community meal is held eachFridayMorning at11:30am-12:30pm. It is a warm and welcoming space that meets the needs of our community providing a nutritious meal and a space for people to gather and connect.

Working within a commercial kitchen facilityour V- Cookplaysa key role in supporting our community by providing consistentreliableand most importantly nourishing meals at our weekly Community Meal in a safe welcoming place. The roleis toprepare the food ready forserving to the Community Members. An ideal role for those who enjoy cooking in a team environment.

  • Mealpreparationand service:With guidanceand instructionfrom theSupervisorpreparemealsaccording tothe planned menu andthenumber of meals.

  • Set up and clean up:With a keen eye for neatness and hygieneassistwithinitialset up clearing of tablespack up washupand waste disposal.

  • Manage stocks and storage:Applying high regard for food safety standardsassistwithensuringfood stocksarereplenishedandwithin use by datesandall food items are stored and labelledcorrectly.

  • Support to the Team

-Assist theMission Volunteer Food Services team to meet daily outcomes

- Meals delivered within the directedtimeframeandappropriate customerservice delivery

- Clean and hygienic kitchen and surroundings in keeping with health regulations

- Provide encouragement tootherteam members

Qualifications and skills (desired/)

Experience in cooking for large numbers of people

Experience in food preparationhandlingand service

Relevantfood handling qualifications as requiredbylocal council authorities
