At Lely we develop smart robotics solutions that support and improve the daily work of dairy farmers. As a Junior Machine Vision Engineer you will be part of the Computer Vision team and work on technology that quite literally forms the eyes of our robots.
Together with colleagues from computer vision mechatronics and animal science you will develop solutions that enable robots to better understand their environment and respond accordingly. You will contribute to applications in the field of image recognition and algorithms with the ultimate goal of improving the lives of both farmers and cows.
You will work in a small close-knit team where collaboration learning and experimentation are key. From time to time you will visit farms to see your work in practice and gather valuable feedback from the field.
Your main responsibilities:
- Researching designing and implementing computer vision algorithms.
- Working on image recognition applications using deep learning and neural networks.
- Testing and validating algorithms in close collaboration with colleagues and in real-life environments.
- Contributing to iterative improvements within an Agile/Scrum working environment.
- Collaborating with specialists from different disciplines to develop robust and reliable solutions.
Qualifications :
You are at the start of your career or have a few years of experience and are curious about how computer vision and AI are applied in real-world products. You enjoy learning asking questions and developing technology together with others.
You bring:
- A completed bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science Informatics or a comparable field.
- A strong interest in computer vision deep learning and neural networks (for example through internships projects or a thesis).
- Basic programming experience in C is a must Python is a plus.
- Familiarity with tools and frameworks such as OpenCV PyTorch or similar is a plus.
- Affinity with Agile/Scrum ways of working.
- Good command of the English language; Dutch is a plus or you are willing to learn.
- A curious collaborative mindset and the motivation to continue developing yourself.
Aanvullende informatie :
Working at Lely means contributing to sustainable progress within one of the most innovative organizations in the Netherlands. You help make the agricultural sector future-proof. We make sure you have the space resources and support you need to grow and do your best work.
- An international environment where collaboration initiative and diverse perspectives are valued
- A culture that encourages learning experimentation and ownership of ideas.
- Excellent working conditions including up to 8 weeks of vacation per year and a good pension scheme.
- A full-time salary range between 4100 and 5800 gross per month with room for growth within the scale.
- Control over your own development with access to a wide range of courses through the Lely Academy
- Daily access to excellent sports facilities on the Lely Campus: an indoor gym outdoor padel courts basketball and volleyball courts table tennis and table soccer. You can join Hyrox workouts or sign up for personal training - and challenge your colleagues during an active break.
- Fresh coffee and tea from our own barista (with milk from our farm) and a healthy affordable company restaurant
