Job Description
Join the New Student Initiatives Team as an Orientation Leader this summer!
Are you ready to lead and make a difference Were looking for energetic students to join our team and help welcome the next generation of Wolf Pack students! As an Orientation Leader youll work 20-35 hours per week from May to August guiding campus tours sharing Wolf Pack traditions and leading small groups of 15-20 new students through their orientation experience.
Responsibilities
Orientation Leaders report to their assigned Orientation Team Leader
Will work on campus 20-35 hours per week between June 1 and August 8
On Orientation days will be required to work 10-12 hour shifts with breaks
Weekly 1:1 check in and individual team meetings
May be asked to participate in 3-4 training sessions throughout the spring semester
Will attend a required 10 day leadership training June 1-12
As a Leader you will be held accountable to create a warm and welcoming environment for incoming students and their families to make meaningful connections
Leaders will be assigned various roles during orientation days including check-in stations residence hall tours campus tours photobooth station greeters floaters tent setup/take down small ground leaders and other duties as assigned
Orientation Leaders will have extensive knowledge of the UNR Campus programs and traditions
Orientation Leaders will participate in family panel sessions as assigned
Help with the setup and take down of training and orientation days includes lifting heavy boxes pop-up tents and A-Frames signs
Will be responsible for small group development of 15-20 students on each orientation day
Lead daily energizers and team building activities throughout the summer
Support August Welcome Weekend Tabling and Welcome Back events as needed
Required Qualifications
Undergraduate students only who have received 30 credits before summer
2.5 cumulative GPA
On track to complete 30 credits/year
Still an undergraduate in Fall 2026
Students are allowed to enroll in one summer class during the first or second session not both sessions or the mini-session. Asynchronous on line courses are allowed
Compensation
$14.00/hour
$350 Food Bucks/Joe Cards
