Term:Part-time
Location: Dunkirk NY (Various sites).
Travel:Candidates must have clean valid license for company vehicle use. May require use of personal vehicle for travel from site-to-site (mileage reimbursed).
Work Schedule:
Monday 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Wednesday 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Friday 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Saturday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Compensation:starting at$19.57 Per Hour
*Candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check through the NYS Office of Mental Health.
JOB FUNCTION:
This individual will provide case management rehabilitative and restorative services to residents within our Supportive Housing program. Counselors are responsible for teaching coaching and monitoring residents daily living activities in a community residence or apartment setting in order to develop skills abilities and experience that will facilitate greater opportunity for the resident to live independently.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Experience and Knowledge
- Bachelors degree in human services-related field; or an associate degree in human service-related field and three years experience in human services; or a high school diploma and five years experience in human services.
- Experience with documentation.
- Must possess a working knowledge of current issues and concerns of people with mental illness rehabilitative training methods and community resources.
- Compassion sensitivity and understanding for individuals suffering from mental illness and substance abuse.
- Professional demeaner
- Ability to work independently and self-motivated.
- Be able to travel to and among various buildingsthat are multileveled with stairs only.
- Have a valid drivers license and a safe driving record.
- May be required to use personal vehicle for programmatic purposes.
- Criminal Background check approved by NYS Office of Mental Health
