We are looking for a versatile Mechatronics Intern to join our R&D this role you will bridge the gap between the physical and the digital ensuring that the Furhat robot is not just a smart computer but a state-of-the-art electromechanical machine.
This internship is focused on hardware innovation and integration. You will explore how the latest cutting-edge componentsfrom sensors to actuatorscan be integrated into our platform. You wont just be maintaining existing hardware; you will be prototyping the next generation of solutions requiring a fluid mix of mechanical design electronics and embedded programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Hardware R&D: Research compare and test the latest electronic components and actuators to improve the robots reliability movement and sensory capabilities.
- Embedded Systems & Firmware: Program microcontrollers to handle sensor data acquisition motor control and low-level signal processing.
- Electromechanical Integration: Design and prototype physical solutions (CAD) and custom circuits (PCB) to integrate new hardware features into the robot.
- System Integration: Work on interfacing low-level hardware with the robots high-level Linux architecture.
- User-Centric Prototyping: Apply an industrial design mindset to ensure that hardware improvements not only function well but also enhance the overall User Experience (UX) and aesthetic of the product.
Who You Are
- A student or enthusiast with a broad background in Mechatronics Robotics or both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
- You have a Product Mindsetyou understand that hardware specs industrial design and UX are deeply interconnected.
