About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Food and Beverages Facilities for the 6th Force Support Squadron MacDill AFB FL.
Performance is measured on the basis of results achieved i.e. success of total operations in terms of customer satisfaction and soundness of operations. Actively participates in the recruitment and development of staff members. Establishes an internal performance management system to ensure proper assignments.
Performs a variety of assignments as assigned; plans coordinates executes recurring and nonrecurring activities special events and joint community undertakings so as to make maximum use of the facilities services and other resources. Manager oversees schedules and coordinates joint use of facilities with civic groups and private clubs military civilian and professional military organizations for the conduct of trainings meetings conferences tournaments and base wide events etc. Ensures vendor compliance with contracts completing the required associated formalities such as developing creative programs and entertainment coordinating marketing to ensure effective promotion(s) to increase awareness of facility happenings. Schedules and publicizes community center activities by making up daily weekly and monthly schedules of events. Complies with directives to ensure the AF Assets and interests are protected. Assigned role of the Primary Facility Manager responsibility; writes coordinates and submits AF Form 332 Base Civil Engineer Work Request and tracks work orders to completion. Keeps procurement records and conducts regular follow ups. Assure meticulous housekeeping is provided throughout the hours of operation. Manages small Food and Beverage operation; 2 brews Catering and Boomers Bar and Grill. Manages inventory. Arranges for the purchase or procurement of supplies and services needed to accomplish scheduled community center activities. Assist in the completion of daily financial statements and bank deposits APF & NAF budgeting process safety fire sanitation and cash handling. Follows all Air Force regulations in the procurement of equipment supplies and entertainment. Maintains all Employee Work Files and Personnel Records. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities and deadlines. Responsible for training recruitment and retention of Food and Beverage staff. Assures that mission and accuracy requirements are met; selects employees; hears and resolves grievances and complaints; initiates corrective and/or adverse action for performance conduct; schedules and grants leave identifies training needs. Must work uncommon tour of duty which includes nights weekends & holidays. Who May Apply: Open to everyone. In order to qualify you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: Must have a minimum of two years of progressive experience which provides a thorough knowledge of all duties described above. Verifiable experience in special events planning or other closely related profession such as in Community Recreation or Hospitality. Practical experience and/or knowledge of snack bar and Catering operations is desired. Must have the knowledge of theories practices techniques of business practices and concepts as related to special events/ entertainment programs. Must have experience with the MS Office: Windows MS Word Excel Access PowerPoint. Other desktop publishing software and skill in the use of the Internet is desired. Ability to communicate orally and in writing and be able to read comprehend and speak English.
