Air Reserve Technicians are full-time civilian employees who are also members of the Air Force Reserve unit in which they are addition to their civilian assignments they are assigned to equivalent positions in the Reserve organization with a Reserve military rank or grade. Appointees civilian assignments will consist of the following duties.
The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer to serve as an Instructor/Evaluator Air Battle Manager.
Duties:
In order to qualify you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants will be rated in accordance with current regulations Recruitment of Air Reserve Technicians through Competitive Examination (ART Agreement) - Supplemental Qualification Policy dated 6-OCT-2017. No specific length of experience is required. The qualifications of Flight Engineer in the Air Force are directly related to the completion of prerequisite training rather than years of experience. Applicants for all positions must have logged the minimum number of hours indicated below in the performance of Flight Engineer duties. Applicants must have been qualified as Airborne Command and Control Officer (AWACS) within 8 YEARS of the date of application. Applicants for Airborne Command and Control Officer (AWACS) positions must be within the past 8 YEARS instructor or examiner qualified in the Mission Design Series (MDS).
Flying Hour Requirements: Must have been awarded or qualify for a USAF Air Battle Manager Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) and hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order. Minimum of 1000 Total Military Flight Time and instructor qualified in unit aircraft.
NOTE: Candidates establishing eligibility based on military flight experience must provide official orders forms or logbooks showing their status as a rated military pilot flight instructor or flight examiner as appropriate. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN AN INELIGIBILE RATING.
