The Marion Illinois VA Health Care System is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join Surgical Services Team within Nursing Service at the VA Medical Center in Evansville IN.
The incumbent must demonstrate leadership in improving patient care by working effectively with others. This individual must possess a high degree of integrity uphold professional clinical and VA standards and practice loyalty to the mission and values of the organization.
This position potentially requires flexibility in schedule and assignments. The incumbent may be required to rotate tours and duties during low/high census or complete administrative tasks established by the immediate supervisor.

The incumbent demonstrates the knowledge and ability to provide care in the operating room.
The incumbent must be able to function independently and be self-motivated.
The incumbent will primarily be working in the EHCC Ambulatory Surgery Center in the operating room but may be asked to assist in the Specialty Clinics as schedule allows.
The incumbent serves as a responsible member of the surgical team and interacts with physicians patients family members professional and supportive personnel who provide patient care with members of other services. Must have in-depth nursing knowledge in the care and support of surgical patients.
The incumbent will provide circulating and scrub duties in the operating room.
PLEASE NOTE: These positions require Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications. If selected Applicants will provide proof of current certifications prior to employment. Only BLS certification which included Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and ACLS certification obtained from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Military Treatment Training Network (MTN) will be accepted.
