Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):
- To assist the Svoboda Center with strategic communications tasks including: support for the bimonthly Svoboda Center newsletter support for messaging in weekly student and faculty newsletters support for social media promotion website updates and other duties.
- To serve as a student leader for civic and community engagement work on campus by regularly sharing information about the Svoboda Center and other civic engagement opportunities with their peers and being a go to person with civic and community engagement expertise including direct peer-to-peer support.

- Communicate digitally and in-person with diverse people and communities
- Design promotional materials
- Curate website content
- Write content for newsletters website and other communications to highlight Svoboda Center programs people and events
- Gather data for communications
- Represent program at events
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Svoboda Center Fellow - Communications will be asked to complete the following including but not limited to:
- Create and support communications about the Svoboda Center and its various programs through newsletters email website and other channels for students and/or faculty and staff.
- Work with Svoboda Center and Marketing and Communications staff on communications
- Update Svoboda Center and VOTE websites as needed
- Analyze and synthesize communications feedback from students faculty and community partners and provide recommendations for how to improve Svoboda Center communications.
- Represent the Svoboda Center at various students events throughout the year
- Provide 1-1 peer advising for students interested in volunteering and service
- Attend professional development on civic and community engagement (as schedule permits)

- Writing and editing
- Google Docs Spreadsheets Forms
- WordPress
- Project Management software (Asana Slack etc.)
- Canva or other graphic design software
