The Section of Cardiology at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital located in Madison WI is searching for a Board Eligible/Board Certified Cardiologist to serve on the staff of a very active academic cardiology section with clinical strengths in electrophysiology interventional cardiology advanced heart failure/transplant and imaging. Applicants with demonstrated success in clinical research are preferred. Skills in the performance supervision and interpretation of cardiac imaging studies including nuclear cardiology transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography are highly desired.
Opportunity exists to perform diagnostic cardiac catheterization but not therapeutic coronary or structural addition to cardiac imaging clinical duties include managing patients on the inpatient ward and outpatient specialty clinics providing outreach clinical care at the Rockford CBOC with the possibility of remote work at our local East Clinic and the Tomah VAMC performing cardiology consultations.
In support of VAs teaching mission the incumbent will provide supervisory oversight of fellows residents and medical students. Candidates with demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and passion for mentoring are desired. The successful applicant will have a faculty appointment with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (UWSMPH) and will work closely with colleagues in the UWSMPH Division of Cardiovascular offers a comprehensive total rewards package. Pay: Competitive salary annual performance bonus regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave 13 days of sick leave 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
