TheDivision of Workforce Development and Adult Learning DWDAL Fiscal Team isrecruiting for a vacant Agency Budget Specialist II position to join our teamat our Downtown Baltimore location.

Main Purpose of Job

The purpose of this positions is to retrieve prepare and reconcile fiscal data for the completion of financial reports grant projections grant closeouts appropriation budgets and personnel actions for the entire division and for all programs and offices within the division.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Data: retrieve convert scrub prepare and store for reporting invoicing review budgeting and projections
  • reporting: prepare financial reports and closeouts
  • cash draws and invoices: prepare monthly requests and quarterly invoices
  • budgets: review monthly files for accuracy and trends
  • budget requests: prepare as needed
  • ad hoc assignments as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:Seven years of experience in budget preparation presentation and execution.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and three years of experience in budget preparation presentation and execution for the required experience.

may substitute graduate education from an accredited college or university in accounting business administration economics finance political science or public administration at a rate of 30 credit hours for five years of required experience.

may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Budget Officer classifications or Financial Management specialty codes in the Budgeting field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference may be given to applicants that possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualifications.
Advanced excel skills.
Experience with FARS and FMIS.
Experience with policy and procedure implementation.
Experience with FMIS requisitions and purchase order

Our generous leave package for permanent State employees includes from ten to 25 days of annual (vacation) leave per year depending on seniority as well as six personal days each calendar addition the State offers eleven paid holidays and fifteen days of sick leave per year.

Free Mass Transit Benefit

Permanent State employees are entitled to use the Baltimore Light Rail the Baltimore Metro Subway the Baltimore Bus Service (Local Bus Service and Express Bus Service) as well as the following Baltimore Region Commuter Bus Routes:

There is no charge to the permanent State employee with a valid State ID card. This benefit can be used any time of the day or evening including weekends. The Free Mass Transit Benefit does not include MARC trains commuter buses thatserve Washington D.C. or any special event buses.

Health Coverage

When you come to work for the State of Maryland as a permanent State employee (or a contractual employee who works at least 30 hours per week or an average of 130 hours a month for a period greater than 90 consecutive days) you and your family may benefit from our medical prescription dental and vision coverage.
