This vacancy is for a GSIntelligence Research Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) United State Coast Guard (USCG) Assistant Commandant for Intelligence (CG-2) Intelligence Coordination Center (ICC) Strategic Intelligence Department Production Division Panex Largo FL.


Duties

You will serve as an ICC Intelligence Research Specialist and as an intelligence analyst for the Commanding Officer.

Being a Coast Guard (CG) civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:

  • Overseeing daily intelligence for targeting maritime threats (ships people cargo) using incidents for analysis.
  • Directing the Targeting teams research and analysis evaluating diverse intelligence streams to identify and interpret threats to national security.
  • Analyzing data across diverse U.S. Coast Guard National Intelligence law enforcement and commercial databases to produce actionable intelligence products.
  • Producing and reviewing intelligence assessments for senior leadership. Communicates vital security findings through formal reports memos and oral presentations to inform Coast Guard policy and operations.
  • Leveraging advanced link-analysis platforms to map and disrupt transnational criminal and terrorist networks.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design multi-INT (Intelligence) collection strategies and leads specialized intelligence working groups to synchronize threat assessments.

    Qualifications

    To qualify at the GS-13 grade level applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability skill and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

    Specialized experience must include the following:

    • Conducting complex all-source intelligence analysis to identify characterize and prioritize maritime threats and targets in support of operational strike force objectives integrating classified and open-source data to inform actionable intelligence products.
    • Representing Coast Guard intelligence in interagency working groups sharing analytical insights promoting data integration and contributing to collaborative maritime threat assessments.
    • Developing briefing materials and delivered oral presentations to senior Coast Guard and partner agency personnel on complex maritime targeting issues and trends.
    • Initiating and maintaining liaisonefforts with senior intelligence and law enforcement analysts across the Intelligence Community Department of Homeland Security partner nations and maritime enforcement organizations to validate information and synchronize targeting efforts.
    NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.

    National Service Experience (i.e. volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.

    The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.     Education

    College Transcript: If you are qualifying based on education submit a copy of your college transcript that lists college courses detailing each course by the number and department (i.e. bio 101 math 210 etc.) course title number of credit hours and grade earned.
