Job Summary
The firm is seeking an Insurance Coverage Defense Attorney to join its Dallas-based practice. This role focuses on sophisticated first-party property and third-party liability coverage matters from pre-suit analysis through litigation. The ideal candidate is analytical detail-oriented and confident in written and oral advocacy. This position is well suited for an attorney who enjoys in-depth policy analysis strategic litigation work and contributing meaningfully within a team-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle first-party property and third-party liability coverage matters at all stages
- Perform pre-suit coverage analysis and provide strategic recommendations
- Analyze insurance policies and evaluate coverage positions
- Conduct and defend examinations under oath and depositions
- Draft pleadings motions and written discovery
- Attend mediations hearings and other court proceedings
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
- Maintain accurate billing and comply with reporting guidelines
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing with the applicable state bar or ability to obtain licensure
- Two to seven years of experience handling insurance coverage matters
- Strong legal writing analytical and oral advocacy skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple matters
- Collaborative team-first mindset
- Writing sample required
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary range of 120000 to 180000 depending on experience
