Finance Director, Financial Reporting & Accounting

THE TEAM

The mission of the Financial Reporting and Accounting departments is to report financial information accurately and on time while ensuring compliance and to account for every financial transaction in the general ledger accurately and on time to enable informed decision making.

Aritzia is growing and our Financial Reporting and Accounting teams are growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team responsible for providing business leaders and external partners with accurate compliant and timely financial reporting as well as being a collaborative leader in the organizations financial reporting and accounting departments. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of all regulatory and external financial reporting ensure the success of financial audits and lead the team to manage all financial data record keeping and general ledger reporting. THE ROLE

As the Director Financial Reporting & Accounting you will lead the team to:

• Work with the appropriate Business Support partners to seamlessly lead the day-to-day function of the department in support of corporate objectives while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience.
• Resolve complex accounting issues to ensure financial accuracy.
• Assess and implement new accounting standards ensuring Aritzias financial statements and external reporting comply with accounting and regulatory standards.
• Analyze accounting implications of material contracts and agreements working collaboratively with Business Support partners to ensure complex financial transactions are processed accurately and on time.
• Meet regulatory reporting requirements while minimizing Aritzias risk exposure.
• Provide analysis and reporting to executive management and Board.
• Govern the financial data that builds our financial reporting.
• Process financial transactions accurately and on time.
• Ensure compliance in accordance with accounting policies.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

The Director Financial Reporting & Accounting has:

• Proven and best-in-class skills applicable certifications education and/or experience in
  • Financial Reporting & Accounting
  • CPA designation
• A commitment to learn apply champion and enrich Aritzias Values and Business and People Leadership principles
• The skills to collaborate strategically with cross-functional partners in the pursuit of shared business outcomes
• The ability to set clear objectives and design a strategy that inspires the team

THE COMPENSATION

The typical hiring range for this position is $150000 - $200000 CAD per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge skills and experience. Additionally this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
