Job Summary
Our client is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Chemistry ECT to join an academic and well-established secondary school in Southampton from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an Early Career Teacher looking to begin their teaching career in a school with high expectations strong outcomes and a proven track record of supporting ECTs.

The Role
Teaching Chemistry across KS3 and KS4
Planning and delivering well-structured lessons with clear learning objectives
Supporting practical science lessons with a strong focus on safety and understanding
Developing confident classroom routines and positive behaviour management
Assessing pupil progress and using feedback to inform teaching
Working closely with experienced colleagues within the Science department
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be on track to qualify as an ECT
A degree in Chemistry or a closely related subject
The ability to teach Chemistry across KS3 and KS4
Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Chemistry
A reflective approach and willingness to develop with support
Good organisation skills and a professional teaching manner
