Job Summary

Duties

  • You will perform account maintenance and accounting support verifying maintaining and reconcilingaccounts and accounting data to prepare and analyze reports.
  • You will support the receipt disbursement examination deposit and custody of cash items which includes handling cash items or use of cash accountability control methods.
  • You will examine documents for accuracy adequacy of documentation compliance with regulations for goods and services provided to or by the Government.
  • You will perform work to establish maintain correct and close pay accounts for active reserve or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants.
  • You will interpret claimants orders and reviews the Travel Voucher and all documentation to determine that all required receipts necessary to adjudicate the claim and authorize payment by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) are provided.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD) the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born aftermust be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012 Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26

Qualifications

GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing guidance on processing Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA) claims travel claim vouchers Housing Applications and all other supporting documentation to complete claims according to regulations.

GS: 06: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Supporting budget analysis and administration functions by maintaining ledgers budget formulations compiling consolidating checking and arranging funding data.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Additional information

The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

Recruitment/relocation incentives MAY be considered.

A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.64% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.
