We are looking for a skilled BE/BC Hematologists/Oncologist with a keen interest in teaching clinical care and clinical research to apply for a clinician-educator track position in the Hematology and Oncology section Medical Service at the Central Virginia VA Health Care System (CVHCS) and Virginia Commonwealth University. The section is multifaceted and has multiple physician-scientists and clinician-educators.
The primary responsibilities include patient care research and teaching. The providers duties encompass reviewing chart examining and treating patients in ambulatory clinic procedure clinic infusion clinic and inpatient wards (consultation). The candidates will be able to teach more than 15 fellows who have their weekly continuity clinic at the VA and conduct research in close collaboration with many of the Richmond VA Cancer Centers physician-scientists and clinical investigators. Those interested in a leadership position will be able to assist with the administration and coordination of the fellowship program.
The Richmond VA Medical Center is a level 1a 349-bed facility offering primary secondary and tertiary health care in medicine surgery neurology rehabilitation medicine intermediate care acute and sustaining spinal cord injury skilled nursing home care and palliative care. There are four community-based outpatient clinics located in Charlottesville Fredericksburg Emporia and Spotsylvania County Virginia and a strong affiliation with the Medical College of Virginia.

Pay: Competitive salary annual performance bonus regular salary increases

The duties and responsibilities of the Physician - Hematologist/Oncologist include but are not limited to the following:
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
