Role Impact:
As a summer student on the Climate Resilience Energy and Sustainability Team (CREST) you will be a key contributor to Cadillac Fairviews (CF) sustainability journey. You will support corporate and operational initiatives that drive energy and operational efficiencies across our national portfolio directly impacting the communities we serve.
In this role you will help translate technical data into meaningful sustainability information supporting the team with the delivery of national programs and projects. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build your career in the real estate and sustainability sector.
What you will deliver:
The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform data cleansing analysis and visualization of submeter utilities and EV data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Develop and populate report templates in Excel Google Sheets and Tableau or PowerBI to support ESG disclosures and green building certifications.
- Assist with basic energy management tasks including normalization utility analysis and monitoring energy and water performance.
- Organize and maintain energy studies consultant reports capital plan inputs and internal technical templates.
- Support utilities invoice management and contribute to incentive applications for energy and sustainability projects.
- Conduct research into emerging sustainability topics such as Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTI) embodied carbon and Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor (CRREM) to support long-term sustainability strategy.
- Create graphs and visual presentation materials for stakeholder communication.
- Support property performance data collection and the development of internal training resources.
- Other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:
- Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate program (2nd year or above) in Engineering Statistics Mathematics Environmental Science Accounting/Economics or a related discipline.
- Strong data analytical and management skills knowledge of Excel/Google Sheet including using advanced functions. Familiarity with database architecturedata visualization (e.g. Tableau or PowerBI) is an asset.
- Previous training and/or work experience in real estate sustainability building efficiency or engineering and a genuine interest for climate and sustainability is an asset.
- Computer literacy with good working knowledge of Google Workspace (Gmail Drive Docs Sheets Slides Forms etc.) Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint etc.)
Minimum starting hourly rate of $17.85. The hourly rate for this position will be determined based on several factors including but not limited to the role academic program year and prior work experience.
