Construction Project Accountant
Summary
The Construction Project Accountant is responsible for managing the financial aspects of multiple construction projects ensuring accurate cost tracking timely billing and adherence to budgets. This role works closely with project managers vendors and clients to provide critical financial support and analysis for ongoing and completed projects.

Job Responsibilities (responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following):
-Monitor record and reconcile all project-related costs invoices change orders and budgets
-Serve as liaison between project teams and accounting/finance departments
-Prepare review and submit regular project financial reports for management
-Ensure timely and accurate billing to clients
-Assist with the preparation of budgets forecasts and cash flow management for projects
-Analyze variances between actual costs and budgets
-Review approve or route vendor and subcontractor invoices for payment
-Support project closeouts by finalizing all financial documents and resolving outstanding issues
-Maintain compliance with internal controls company policies and contract requirements
-Participate in internal and external audits as needed
-Preparation of monthly Work-In-Progress (WIP) schedules
-Monthly adjusting journal entries and account reconciliations
-Maintain a high degree of integrity and confidentiality regarding financial data
Preferred Knowledge Skills Education and Experience
-Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or related field or equivalent experience in project accounting (5 years in construction or related industry preferred)
-Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
-Proficiency with accounting/project management software (e.g. Viewpoint Sage Procore or similar)
-Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Physical Requirements
The Project Accountants physical condition must be sufficient for the consistent and successful completion of the responsibilities defined for this position. This position frequently requires sitting using hands and working on a computer for extended periods; occasional standing walking or reaching may also be necessary.
