Speech Language Pathologist (Therapist)

Division Services Centre

Temporary Full Time 35 hours per week

Position: A speech language pathologist is required to work with children/students with diverse learning needs in Pre-K to Grade 12. The successful candidate(s) will work as a member of the Student Learning Services team to support and provide services to children/students with delays in speech language and communication.

Duties Commence: February 19 2026 (or as mutually agreed) until June 29 2026

Qualifications & Duties:

• Committed to being a model and witness to Christ-centered education values and beliefs.
• Apply foundational knowledge about First Nations Métis and Inuit for the benefit of all students and support the Divisions goals towards advancing Truth and Reconciliation.
• Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Registered or eligible to be registered with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
• Excellent interpersonal/organizational skills.
• Experience working with young children and school-aged students with diverse needs and collaborating with team members.
• Assessment and program development including goal development.
• Experience with administering standardized and observational speech and language assessments.
• High energy level and ability to physically support children in play.
• Experience with coaching classroom staff and families in implementing language and communication strategies in meaningful and engaging ways within everyday routines in an inclusive setting.

• Facilitate pre-language and alternative communication skills including low to high tech alternatives.
• Supervision of and planning for Speech Language Pathology Assistants.
• Facilitate Professional Development sessions for classroom and District staff.
• Experience with creating visuals including the use of Boardmaker software.
• Experience with Social-Emotional Strategies is an asset.
