Job Summary:
We are seeking a Strategic Direct Buyer to manage direct purchasing activities including supplier evaluation contract negotiation and procurement of high-quality materials. This role plays a key part in ensuring cost-effective sourcing compliance with technical specifications and strong supplier relationships to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with sales teams during tender preparation to understand customer requirements and ensure accurate procurement costing
Conduct technical and commercial evaluations of supplier proposals and bids
Negotiate pricing terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes without compromising quality
Build maintain and develop strong relationships with key and potential suppliers
Identify new suppliers through market research exhibitions and networking
Monitor supplier quality performance in cooperation with QA teams and manage non-conformity issues
Initiate claims corrective actions and preventive measures with suppliers
Create and process purchase orders accurately and ensure timely delivery
Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders to support smooth procurement operations
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Engineering Business or Supply Chain Management
35 years of experience in direct purchasing or buyer role
Strong negotiation and communication skills in English
Ability to lead supplier meetings and communicate technical requirements clearly
Good technical knowledge of the metal industry including reading drawings and specifications
Strong vendor management and relationship-building skills
Proficient in MS Office
Experience with SAP / ERP systems
