Job Summary

Summary

Join our team at the Directorate of Family and Morale Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum. We are dedicated to enhancing the lives of Soldiers and their Families by providing essential support services including child and youth programs and a variety of recreational activities that directly contribute to Soldier readiness and well-being.

This position is located at Outdoor Recreation within the Business and Recreation Division.

Incentives and Bonuses

  • Incentives will NOT be paid.

Duties

  • Directly assisting guests by providing information booking reservations for activities (e.g. tours lessons) and processing payments for rental items and services.
  • Fitting guests with seasonal recreational equipment (such as skis snowboards or bicycles) and facilitating leisure activities and tours.
  • Leading guided tours which includes operating a shuttle vehicle and providing local area information.
  • Ensuring a safe environment and maintaining accountability for all participants.
  • Preparing daily reports on activity participation sales transactions and revenue collection.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with Army Regulation 215-3.
  • Must have or be able to obtain by the start of employment American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED certifications.
  • Must have or be able to obtain by the start of employment a valid state drivers license.
  • This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
  • Must be willing to accept intermittent on-call employment.
  • Work schedule will be irregular. The incumbent will be required to work nights weekends holidays and/or unique events.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicants relevant experience skills knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess one (1) year of experience performing a variety of duties in a customer service or recreation-focused environment.
Experience must include:

  • Handling retail sales booking reservations and processing payments. AND
  • Assisting guests with recreational equipment and guiding activities or tours. AND
  • Ensuring the safety and accountability of program participants. AND
  • Performing daily administrative tasks such as reporting on sales and activity levels.

  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday Premium and Night Differential pay have NOT been authorized by the Garrison Commander or the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Flexible positions with no guaranteed hours.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances cost of living (COLA) and differentials will NOT be paid.
