Summary
This job opportunity is for an AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER position description Dwithin the 108th OG of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32 Excepted Service position.
The purpose of this position is to serve as an Aircrew Flight Equipment technician in the Air Operations Division with responsibility for ensuring shop equipment is properly maintained.
As a AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER WGyou will:
- Plan and lay out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the technician and lower graded worker(s).
- Perform the full range of shop work.
- Implement safety regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
- Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations inspections mobilization and command support exercises.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Conditions of employment
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing states National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Qualifications
General Experience:Must have the following experiences:
- Using Materials and equipment (helmets torso harness assemblies parachutes survival equipment)
- Understanding written instructions
- Using reference materials and manuals
- Aviation life support equipment
- Reading and interpreting military manuals
- Supply procedures and property accountability
- Collecting information and presenting it to various sized groups
- Planning a functional shop maintenance program is essential

Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment.
