Job: Corporate Relations Advisor

Make a community level impact while shaping the narrative of the energy transition in the U.S. Southeast. As a Corporate Relations Advisor you will be the bridge between our operations and the Baton Rouge area community. You will build trust with local stakeholders align communications across complex projects and help the business listen respond and thrive.
What you will do
- Lead community engagement and internal communications that build trust transparency and employee pride.
- Develop and execute stakeholder engagement and communications plans for growth projects. Scope can include conventional expansions major operational events that are planned or unplanned and low carbon solutions.
- Represent the company at community forums interest groups and industry coalitions.
- Manage social media content and strategy in partnership with the corporate media team.
- Activate employee engagement through volunteerism and outreach programs.
- Monitor and address non technical risks and social performance while creating opportunities to highlight environmental performance and community benefits.
- Support emergency response and crisis communications as Public Information Officer when needed. Primary support is for Geismar Convent and Norco assets with secondary support to regional upstream and midstream operations.
- Provide strategic counsel to business leaders on local and state political regulatory and reputational matters.
- Coordinate with trade associations and third party advocacy partners to advance shared industry objectives.

Investments in Carbon Capture and Sequestration and Direct Air Capture along with evolving fuels and chemicals strategies require proactive credible engagement. This role ensures community insight informs business planning reputational risks are addressed early and employees are engaged ambassadors for the company and its values.

- Confident crisis communications execution with well coordinated incident support.
What you bring
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- 5 or more years in communications social performance government relations or community relations. Candidates with government experience or a strong record of collaboration with government will be highly competitive.
- Excellent writing and social media skills. Writing samples are required with application.
- Steady judgment and professionalism in dynamic fast paced situations including periods of intense public or media scrutiny and in company sponsored celebratory environments such as festivals.
- Deep understanding of local community dynamics and existing relationships with local and state officials in the Baton Rouge area or adjacent markets.
- Ability to anticipate issues influence across levels and align diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word PowerPoint Excel Teams and Microsoft Copilot or equivalent AI tools.
Work location and travel
- Primary coverage across the Baton Rouge region with regular on site presence at Geismar and Convent and periodic support for Norco and other regional assets.
- Occasional evening and weekend community events.
- Availability to support emergency response rotations.
Pay Rate: $95-$110 hr (Final pay determined by experience)
