ABOUT THE POSITION
TheIllinois College of Osteopathic Medicine at theChicago School is hiringaClinical Skills Educatorto provide hands-on instruction to osteopathic medicalstudents.This role will providehands-oninstructionandoversight in physician skillsand OMMexperiential sessions.
Successful candidates willbe ahealthcareprofessional whocontributesdirectly to the development of students physical examclinicalandpalpatory and/or manipulative skills in alignment with the osteopathic philosophy andIllinoisCOMcurriculumobjectives. This role will work in collaboration withOperations staffclinicalfacultyand Course Directors tofacilitatesmall-group hands-on laboratory sessions reinforcing safe effective and evidence-informedclinical practice and/orosteopathic principles and practices within the Patient Centered Osteopathic Practicecourses.Responsibilities includeobservingand instructingmedical students duringexperientialsessions.Asuccessful candidatemay alsolead alaboratory demonstrationorinstructionof clinical skills and/orOsteopathic Manipulative Medicine techniquesdepending on skillset and experience.
This is a part-time position requiring flexibility to work during the hours agreed upon for student instruction and assessment. The position is on-site atthe Chicago Campus.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Instructional Tasks & Faculty Collaboration
Facilitate small-group instruction duringClinical skills and/orOMM laboratory sessions under the direction of the Course Director.
Demonstrateobserve and guide student performance of physical exam clinical skills and osteopathic palpation diagnosis and manipulative techniques with emphasis on correct hand placement patient positioning and operator body mechanics.
Provide individualized formative feedback to students to enhance psychomotor skill acquisition and professional growth.
Reinforce foundational concepts in osteopathic philosophy anatomy biomechanics and clinical application.
Ensure all teaching activities uphold student patient and faculty safety standards.
Collaborate with Course Directors and fellow faculty tomaintainstandardization and consistency in technique instruction and terminology across lab sections.
Participate in faculty calibration or training sessions as scheduled by the department.
Provide feedback to operations and/or course leadershipregardinglab flow student engagement and curricular improvement opportunities.

Foster a respectful and inclusive learning environment that promotes curiosity clinical reasoning and collegial collaboration.
Serve as a role model and mentor for students interested in pursuing OMM and integrative osteopathic practice.
Administrative and Logistical Support
Assistwith lab setup and cleanup as needed to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Document attendance professionalism and performance issues during experiential sessionsin accordance withdepartmental policy.
Communicate any student safety or conduct concerns promptly to Operations the Course Director or Chair.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
DO or MD withappropriate trainingand skills OR healthcareprofessional(e.g. PA NP PT RN MA etc.) withappropriate trainingand clinical experience.
Educatorsdo not have tomaintaincurrent licensure/certification but should have recent clinical experience.
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Be detailed oriented and have excellent interpersonal skills
Have computer literacy skills with the ability to access Microsoft Office platforms in addition to other online resources to review preparatory materials for each experience
Compliance with State and Federal Regulations and Safety Protocols
Follow proper OSHA and safety guidelines; Protect equipment (office facility etc.)
Effectively use interpersonal and communications skills including tact and diplomacy
Effectively use organizational and planning skills including attention to detail and follow-through
Maintain confidentiality ofwork-relatedinformation and materials
Work cooperatively and collegially with others consistent with a workplace of dignity and respect and EEO rules and regulations
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of student andpatientprivacy (i.e.FERPA HIPAA etc.)
At least 3 years of clinical practice and teaching experience
Experience intrainingosteopathic medical students in a clinical setting
Experience as an instructorwith adult learners
Motivation to contribute to OMM department growth
Commitment to collaborative interprofessional education
