THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC Position Description Number PDD1366000and is part of the WY 153rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Wyoming Air National Guard.

This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. Military affiliation is required.

Duties

The primary purpose of this position is to inspect repair modify and service C-130 aircraft systems components and assemblies both on- and off-aircraft.

(1) Performs inspections functional checks and preventive maintenance on aircraft to include periodic phase hourly preflight postflight calendar through-flight and special inspections such as fuel contamination emergency equipment and oil sampling.
(2) Troubleshoots and performs unscheduled maintenance on assigned and transient aircraft utilizing various gauges meters measuring devices and other related test equipment.
(3) May be required to perform user and organizational level maintenance on assigned support equipment including inspection repair modification and corrosion prevention.
(4) Provides data for aircraft maintenance historical records complete maintenance data collection man-hour accounting and other forms as required.
(5) Instructs directs and assigns maintenance repair tasks to drill status guard members.

    KEY REQUIREMENTS:
    Open to current or prior service active duty reserve or national guard members of one of the branches of the US Air Force Army Navy Marines or Coast Guard.
    Military members: Submit vMPF Rip DVR CDB STP ERS MBS or PDR with resume.
    Prior service members: Submit a DD Form 214.
    Must become a military member of the Wyoming Air Natl Guard before appt.

    Must possess or be able to obtain AFSC 2A571 Airlift/Special Mission Aircraft Maintenance.
    Recruitment/Relocation Incentives ARE NOT authorized.
    PCS is not authorized in lieu of incentives. If selected you will be required to relocate at your own expense.
    May be required to successfully complete a two-year trial period.
    Veterans preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f).

    EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
    Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).
    Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment retention and student loan repayment bonuses.

    Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS).

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
    2. Covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
    3. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
    4. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
    5. Duties and responsibilities may significantly impact on the environment. Responsible for maintaining awareness of environmental responsibilities as dictated by legal and regulatory requirements organization and its changing mission.

    Qualifications

    AREAS OF CONSIDERATION:
    Primary consideration will be made from Areas 1 2 4 and 6.

    Area 1: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ANG employees assigned to the 153 AMXS.
    Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (ANG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard.
    Area 4: All current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard.
    Area 6: Current and prior military service members separated from any branch of the military to include US Air Force US Army US Navy US Marine Corps US Coast Guard Reserves and National Guard components. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position.

    Enlisted applicants military grade cannot exceed the maximum military grade authorized. Over-grade applicants must provide a written demotion statement of understanding with application willingness to be administratively reduced in grade (E-5) if selected for this position.     MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    Must possess experience or training that has provided the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts accessories and components and make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
    WG-08: Must possess experience or training in the use of common hand tools to make mechanical repairs. Experience removing and installing aircraft parts components and accessories with detailed guidance. Experience in following detailed instructions in making routine reoccurring repairs and modifications to aircraft parts subassemblies and components e.g. such as jacking and leveling aircraft installing and adjusting engines landing gear assemblies instrument panels and flight control systems.

    WG-10: Must possess experience or training installing adjusting aligning troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow.

    AND

    Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash-damaged engines transmissions gearboxes hydraulic components and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container.

    NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from (e.g. 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar - 2017) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume.

    MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.

    COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS:
    Enlisted: 2AXXX

    Must possess or be able to obtain AFSC 2A571 Airlift/Special Mission Aircraft Maintenance.

    Enlisted 2A5X1 ASVAB Requirements:
    Must possess a minimum score of 47 on the Mechanical portion of the ASVAB.
    Medical Profile PULHES must not be greater than 333132.
    Must be able to lift 80 lbs. unassisted.

    DRIVERS LICENSE:
    Must possess a valid drivers license.

    Education

    This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
