JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Principal will be an integral part of a team that includes the
superintendent of schools assistant superintendents a business manager and a
team of building level administrators directors and specialists. It is the responsibility of
the administrator to provide leadership with a variety of duties i.e. the evaluation of
teaching staff school improvement initiatives extracurricular programs and student
management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversight of Veterans Elementary School
- Performance Based Teacher Evaluation
- Attendance
- Discipline
- Summer School
- Special Services
- Crisis Plans
- Supervision
- Collaboration with Community Agencies
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
* College degree with Administrator certificate preferred.
Knowledge:
* Successful experience in a supervisory/leadership position.
* Knowledge of school laws.
* Ability to manage discipline and personnel.
Physical Requirements:
* Good physical health.
* Physically able to lift 50 pounds.
* Perform moderately strenuous tasks.
* Maintain emotional control under stress.
Additional Job Considerations/Factors:
* Live within a reasonable distance from the school district
* Be accessible by phone to handle emergencies.
* Work outside of regularly scheduled hours may be required to fulfill job
duties and responsibilities.
