Job Summary
Summary
Serves as a Traffic Management Coordinator in a terminal facility and is responsible for ensuring that efficient and effective traffic management is maintained.
Ensures that traffic management instructions/restrictions are initiated in accordance with established procedures to maintain a safe and expeditious flow of traffic and minimize the impact of heavy flight demands. Assesses the facilitys capacity and projects an acceptable level of traffic.
Issues appropriate traffic flow restrictions to adjacent facilities to space hold and reroute aircraft to distribute the flow of traffic and equalize workload among positions. Follows agency policy when implementing traffic management initiatives.
Maintains awareness of the traffic flow equipment status airport/weather conditions and traffic forecasts to ensure acceptable levels of traffic mitigate delays and avoid flights into undesirable atmospheric conditions. Maintains familiarization of all phases of facility operations and aeronautical/meteorological conditions.
Maintains currency on required positions of operation.
Works under the administrative supervision of the Supervisory Traffic Managment Coordinator. Performance is evaluated upon the effectiveness with which assigned program objectives are achieved.
Conditions of employment

Qualifications
Candidates must show specialized experience which is defined as:
Must have been facility rated or area certified as a CPC/TMC/S at an ATO terminal/enroute facility.
Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.

A one-year probationary period may be required.
The person selected for this position may be required to file a financial disclosure statement within 30 days of entry on duty. FAA policy limits certain outside employment and financial investments in aviation-related companies. position is covered by the Department of Transportations Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Any applicant tentatively selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment or pre-appointment drug screening. Persons occupying a testing designated position (TDP) will be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing.
You MUST submit a copy of your most recent (non-award) SF-50 Notification of Personnel Action that verifies your position title series grade tenure and organization of record. Required documents may be uploaded to your AVIATOR application emailed to the Agency contact or faxed on or before the closing date of the announcement. Failure to provide the required documentation by the closing date of this announcement will result in non-consideration for this position.
Eligible applicants meeting the minimum qualification requirements if applicable may be further evaluated. Based on this evaluation applicants will be placed in one of the following categories: score order category grouping or alphabetical and referred to the selecting official for consideration.
This position is covered by Public Law 92.297 for early retirement purposes.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications candidates will be rated in accordance with the instructions on FAA FormRating of Air Traffic Experience for AT Movement.
Salary will be set in accordance with the Air Traffic Specialized Pay Plan (ATSPP) Manual.
Selection and placement are contingent upon waiver or completion of satisfactory security/medical requirements.
The person selected for this position must maintain medical clearance.
Permanent position is covered under Public Law 92-297 for early retirement purposes.
