Job Summary

Overview

Want to spend your summer working outside on some of Vermonts best hiking trails and swimming holes The Vermont Dept of Forests Parks and Recreation is recruiting for a seasonal Trail Coordinator to assist in the maintenance and management of recreation infrastructure. Key responsibilities include hiking trail maintenance public access point upkeep and interpretive work at busy water based recreation sites. Additional opportunities to assist with forest management are anticipated. Employment runs from mid-May through mid-November though some flexibility is available based on applicant needs. This is a full-time seasonal position with significant weekend time commitment for interpretive work at swimming sites. State fleet vehicles are available and their use is preferable but use of personal vehicle may be required on occasion. Mileage will be reimbursed at $0.70/mile. All tools and protective supplies necessary for the job will be provided. Appropriate clothing boots and rainwear are supplied by employee. Housing is not available for this position
