Job Summary

Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in the Information Technology and Cyber Security Office (Code 109) of PSNS and IMF.


Duties

  • You will manage staffing levels and work assignments to effectively assign work to subordinates.
  • You will identify and address IT workforce planning and management issues such as recruitment retention and training.
  • You will develop new techniques and establish new approaches and methods for information technology policies plans and procedures.
  • You will provide policy guidance to information technology management staff and customers.
  • You will manage and perform assignments involving review of contractor proposals.
  • You will manage the implementation publication and dissemination of information processing planning and/or procedural standards to the user community.
  • You will serve as a project manager and coordinate required actions for implementing IT initiatives to improve command and customer capabilities.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position role code Cyber Policy and Strategy Planner proficiency Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Dept. of Navy policies.
  • You will be required to complete training obtain and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets gloves coveralls glasses goggles respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes dust heat ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position requires the ability to occasionally lift/carry items weighing 50 pounds.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour including nights weekends and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position may require rotating shift work.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting operational planning involving strategic plans workforce planning resource management and policy and standards development in the IT environment. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail customer service oral communication and problem solving.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
