About the role
As a Zone Substation Electrical Technician you will play a key role in constructing maintaining and commissioning zone substations and associated distribution equipment. Your responsibilities will include inspecting and testing network assets performing high and low voltage switching operations and ensuring compliance with safety environmental and quality standards.

You will collaborate closely with operational teams and stakeholders to ensure reliable energy delivery and contribute to the ongoing development of innovative energy solutions. Your work will directly support Essential Energys commitment to providing safe efficient and sustainable energy to our communities.

This role will be based in Dubbo or Narrabri.

Required Qualifications

Certificate IV in ESI - Power Systems Substations or equivalent experience and/or relevant qualification
Current drivers licence
Qualified Supervisors Certificate
WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Certificate
Ability to maintain all required regulatory and business licences authorisations and certificates for the role

Desired Experience

First Aid certification
Elevated Work Platform operation
C2 or C6 licence Dogman and Forklift licences
Knowledge of chemical handling and storage
Manual handling and environmental awareness
Switching and substation entry authorisation knowledge
Experience in technical and practical aspects of electrical technician roles
Strong understanding of safety environmental and quality compliance requirements
