DescriptionReporting to the Senior Manager for Event Production and Event Production Coordinator the Seasonal On-Call Event Production Associate will support all aspects of the High Lines exciting event programming calendar and lineup of special events and public-facing activations. The Production team will count on this position for various tasks from setting up floor plans to operating elevators to redirecting visitors. This role requires high energy the ability to multitask and solve problems and a commitment to working proactively. The goal is to ensure production gets on smoothly and problem-free.
This is an on-call non-exempt position. The hourly rate for this position is $25/hour. This is a seasonal position with a start date of April 13 2026 and end date of November 2 2026. Please note the duration of this role may adjust based on business needs. We are accepting applications on a rolling basis.
Primary Responsibilities
- Participate in all aspects of day-of-event preparation and breakdown including but not limited to cleaning tasks moving barricades physically setting up floor plans and all necessary equipment including sound equipment
- Interact with park guests and conduct crowd control as needed by placing signage redirecting visitors away from closed locations etc
- Follow Run of Shows and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner
- Liaise with internal teams and assist with tasks where needed
- Act as a runner distributing messages or items within the production crew and vendors
- Serve as the main FHL point-of-contact during all event activities
- Ensure that High Line standards and rules are adhered to by event vendors and production teams
- Perform minor administrative work such as submitting event reports to document event details issues or park damage
- Escort talent and crew around the park during events
- Operate elevators during load-ins and load-outs
- Other tasks as assigned.
RequirementsThe desired experience of a successful candidate may include the following but candidates will not be screened exclusively based on meeting these qualifications:
Ideal Experience:
- High school / HSE graduate
- Proven experience as a production assistant and/or demonstrated a passion for the event production industry
- Relevant training (e.g. production courses) is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of event production terminology
- Experience operating audiovisual lighting and projection equipment for the production of events installations and programs
- A team player who is flexible and resourceful with a meticulous eye for the intention and design of each event
- Able to diplomatically interact with all levels of staff management event vendors and park visitors
- Possess a growth mindset with an openness to receiving coaching and constructive feedback.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic level of computer and internet literacy including Microsoft Word Excel and Google Workspace as well as an enthusiasm for learning new computer applications
Abilities:
- Ability to move around the High Line and interact with the public
- Ability to reach stoop crouch stand sit and lift up to 40lbs
- Ability to work flexible hours as an on-call employee

- Weekday / Weekend 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM (4 hour shift)

- Weekday / Weekend 9:30 PM - 7:00 AM (9.5 hour overnight shift)
