We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Co-op Student to join our Purchasing team this summer. This role will provide valuable experience in various aspects of procurement and supply chain management with opportunities to work on special projects and support our purchasing operations. The position involves on-the-job hands-on learning and training.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
- Supporting Purchasing Team: Assist with daily purchasing activities and contribute to special projects as assigned.
- Presentations and Spreadsheets: Prepare and present data-driven reports spreadsheets and presentations to communicate findings and support decision-making processes.
- Supplier Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of suppliers to assess performance quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Creating SOPs: Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures to streamline and improve purchasing processes.
Qualifications
- Education: Currently enrolled in a Business Administration degree program or demonstrating a strong interest in purchasing
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent people skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams to gather information and solve problems.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and present information clearly.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze data think critically and provide practical solutions.
- Team Player: Collaborative mindset with a strong commitment to team success.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
