Job Summary
Our client is a well-established company with over 75 years of experience in the timber
industry. Operating a radiata pinespecific sawmill and wood-processing facility they service both local and international markets.
They are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer/Fitter to join their this role youll be responsible for maintaining and improving plant operations ensuring machinery and equipment remain fully operational. You will respond to breakdowns restore production as efficiently as possible and review and enhance existing maintenance plans.
This position requires strong leadership professionalism and a commitment to health and safety. You will work closely with the current in-house Fitter who will provide support and share their extensive knowledge. Clear communication across the business is essential to achieve the best outcomes.
Experience & Qualifications Required
Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
Trade qualification in Engineering or relevant qualification
Strong background in:
o Repairs & maintenance
o Electrical systems
o Mechanical work
o Hydraulics
o Preventive maintenance
o Process improvement
o Problem solving
Pay & Hours
Hourly rate: $30-$32 per hour
Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed
Average 4050 hours per week
Five and a half days per week (Saturday is a half day)
Additional Requirements
Two references from previous employers within heavy industrial environments preferably timber industry
Must be drug- and alcohol-free
o Pre-employment and random post-employment drug testing applies
Full drivers licence required
