Job Summary

Summary

Duties

  • You will operate large complex riding lawn mowers and similar types of specialized mowing equipment.
  • You will determine and select the most appropriate type of equipment to accomplish each phase of the work in the most productive and cost-effective manner.
  • You will complete all aspects of special assignments involving several steps phases or detailed procedures.
  • You will operate various controls and levers to maneuver equipment and lift lower adjust engage and disengage components or attached devices when working around trees trenches large potholes slopes curbs rocks and other visible obstacles.

Conditions of employment

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets gloves coveralls glasses goggles respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one of the following:

1. Have received commendations for good work on the job in school in Armed Forces in Job Corps etc.
2. In the last 5 years have not left a job due to own actions only due to end of work or project completion.
3. Have received better than average school grades or job appraisals.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

Additional information

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour including nights weekends and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

This position requires rotating shift work.
