As LinkedIns Director of Data Communications you will set the strategy for how LinkedIn uses data and research to inform shape and elevate our external storytelling across priority audiences. You will turn data into a strategic narrative engine that builds trust scales globally and solidifies LinkedIns authority on work.
As a qualified candidate you have a strong track record translating complex data and research into clear external narratives that resonate with consumers media policymakers and business leaders. You bring sharp judgment high standards for rigor and the ability to work closely with partners across data science market research economic graph and legal to ensure insights are accurate relevant and impactful.
This role will balance strategy-setting with hands-on leadership translating complex trends into clear and compelling narratives that deliver against LinkedIns communications goals.
Responsibilities:
- Define the strategy and priorities for insight-led storytelling rooted in LinkedIn data and research aligning long-term narratives with timely responses to emerging insights.
- Lead and manage the Data Communications team including goal-setting prioritization performance feedback and professional development.
- Oversee flagship reports and data-driven storytelling ensuring rigor consistency and alignment with company priorities.
- Own the corporate thought leadership platform for LinkedIns Chief Economist shaping narratives moments and outputs that advance LinkedIns point of view on the world of work.
- Consult on all externally commissioned research including managing preferred research vendors from framing and methodology through external narrative development.
- Partner with data science market research Economic Graph and legal teams to source validate and translate complex insights into clear credible stories.
- Establish effective ways of working decision frameworks and workflows that enable both speed and accuracy.
- Build strong partnerships across Comms including international and market teams to shape global data narratives and guide localized storytelling that reflects regional context while maintaining consistency and rigor.
- Advise senior leaders on data-driven narratives messaging and moments where insight-led storytelling can shape external conversation.
Qualifications :
Basic Experience
- 11 years in related PR or external communications
- 7 years in people management
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to translate data research or analysis into compelling external stories.
- Strong strategic instincts paired with sound editorial judgment.
- Experience partnering closely with technical or research-focused teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including advising senior leaders.
- Ability to operate effectively in highly matrixed global environments.
- Calm confident leadership style especially when navigating ambiguity or scrutiny.
