We are looking for an experienced plant environmental engineer to provide technical and regulatory environmental support to the plant manufacturing team at the Kansas City Assembly Plant (KCAP). The person will be responsible for completing all required regulatory reports (air wastewater stormwater waste CO2 etc.) and responding to any agency inquiries. As a team player you will collaborate with the KCAP team as well as other plants and the corporate office to identify innovative ways to reduce water consumption waste generation and material usage.
Responsibilities- What youll do...
- Provides day-to-day technical and regulatory support for environmental media/operational subjects (air stormwater wastewater tanks material usage Environmental Operating System (EOS) ISO 14001 plant reports decommissioning remediation permitting regulatory communications analytical testing plant audits spill response etc.)
- Supports achievement of the EQO and Manufacturing business plan objectives and targets (compliance index Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emissions water usage waste generation and disposed energy efficiency and hydrocarbon (oil consumption)).
- Develops accurate and complete correspondence (reports permit applications etc.) to support facility / manufacturing environmental compliance and business plan objectives and targets.
- Tracks progress and spending on environmental capital and expense projects to ensure action items are completed on time and within budget.
- Manages Total Waste Management contract. Ensures waste (all special non-hazardous universal and hazardous wastes) is managed stored and disposed of according to regulatory and corporate environmental requirements. Provides required environmental waste training to plant employees as required.
- Supports technical aspects of environmental systems at facilities (Environmental Operating System environmental reserves facility decommissioning activities and plant projects compliance assurance manufacturing management reviews etc.)
- Utilizes environmental software applications (GEM/ICSM IPoint PERS SharePoint Auros E-Tracker DMAIC Veeder Root Maximo etc.) to help achieve business plan objectives and targets.
- Builds strong productive working relationships with environmental professionals and manufacturing /non-manufacturing contacts throughout the Company at facilities and staff levels.
- Effectively uses standard procedures and best practices to ensure facility / manufacturing environmental compliance to achieve business plan objectives and targets.
- Maintains knowledge of applicable national regional and local environmental requirements.
- Represents Fords interests on environmental matters through interaction with external entities (local regional and national regularly agencies community groups trade and professional organization non-governmental organizations etc.)
- Supports facility and product programs through necessary permit actions capacity planning studies and environmental project funding requests.
- Supports WWTP Operations and wastewater reuse to ensure regulatory requirements are met along with business plan objectives and targets.
- Fundamental understanding of environmental rules and regulations

- Bachelors Degree
- 1 years experience as environmental engineer in a manufacturing setting.
- 1 years of Microsoft office application experience

This position is a salary grade 7 8 and ranges from $84840 - $162120.
