Job Summary
What we are looking for
SCS Engineers is looking for a Construction Superintendent to join our Renewable Energy Division. The division focuses on renewable energy design/build/operate projects in the renewable biogas and renewable power markets. SCS Energys biogas-to-energy facilities currently operating or currently under design or construction will remove more thanmetric tons/year of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) in greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere. Our projects help a diversified client base achieve their renewable energy goals by reducing their carbon footprint and creating useful by-products from waste material. SCS builds systems that power universities wastewater treatment plants and dairies; generate renewable natural gas sales; and support electric utilities.
You will handle day-to-day site management of the construction of renewable power and gas-processing facilities. Project size will range from $30MM to $70MM. You will work at SCSs various project sites at locations throughout the United States. This is a traveling position but the first assignment will start in Medford Oregon. You can travel back home once a month.
How you can make an impact
- Leading and managing the on-site construction team including subcontractors
- Coordinating and overseeing all work on site
- Attending weekly production and scheduling meetings
- Working with SCS safety personnel ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Ensure compliance with quality standards
- Monitor and report on project progress
- Following the project schedule to ensure deadlines are met
- Ensure contractors are complying with applicable codes standards and permit requirements
- Liaising with inspection authorities regarding approvals
- Ensure job site remains safe clean and orderly
- Resolve on-site issues and emergencies
- Maintaining records for site personnel such as daily field reports field orders and RFIs
Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years of experience supervising construction projects in a related field required.
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering Construction Management or similar field is desirable but not required
- Knowledge of quality safety and health guidelines for construction job sites
- In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
- Proficiency in MS Office applications including MS Project and Word
- Ability to interpret and build according to drawings specifications and other documents
- Valid drivers license with a driving record in good standing required
- Must meet physical requirements for driving (pick-up truck) lifting and carrying equipment/mechanical components (up to 50 lbs. unassisted) hand excavation/digging (using shovels/picks) carrying and climbing ladders operating and working from man lifts operating electric tools (drills saws etc.) using hand tools (screwdrivers wrenches hammers etc.) and providing services under various weather conditions
