Duties

  • The food service worker serves as a food service provider helping in the preparation presentation and the serving or delivery of light food items offered for sale to patrons.
  • Works behind the counter and sets up and/or replenishes food and hot/cold drink and specialty items and the associated condiments for a food service/snack bar operation.
  • Serves light food items requiring little or no preparation time to patrons from a service cart at a beach side resort property location
  • Performs expeditor duties by delivering food to customers or bringing out food to a service buffet area.
  • Performs a variety of duties incident to the maintenance cleanliness and sanitation of the area to which assigned.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 para.2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

1. Ability to work without more than normal supervision.
2. Ability to keep things neat clean and in order.
3. Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques.
4. Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions.
5. Knowledge of basic sanitation principles.
6. Ability to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.
7. Must have knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition subtraction multiplication division fractions and decimals in order to takes orders and provide change; and determine the number of portions required.

  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Governments interest.
Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time regular part-time and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances cost of living (COLA) and differentials will not be be paid contingent upon eligibility.
