As a Manufacturing Operator II within our Microbiology division in Basingstoke youll play a crucial role in producing products that directly contribute to this mission. Youll be part of a fast-paced diverse organization responsible for all aspects of manufacturing and packaging Dehydrated Culture Media products.
Working in a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment youll operate on a 40-hour week schedule Monday to Friday with a rotating shift pattern. Youll alternate between 06:00-14:00 one week and 14:00-22:00 the following week ensuring continuous production and flexibility in our operations.
In this role youll be an integral member of our team contributing to the production of high-quality microbiology products used in various industries including pharmaceutical biotechnology clinical labs academia government environmental and food safety markets. Your work will directly impact the diagnosis and treatment of infections as well as ensure food safety standards are met globally.
Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to and promote safety protocols reporting any unsafe or unethical practices immediately through appropriate channels
Proactively work to eliminate unsafe situations or practices within the department
Actively participate in daily departmental meetings contributing ideas and insights
Monitor track and regularly report on daily goals to supervisors/managers
Engage effectively in performance and development conversations acting on feedback to continually improve
Understand and work towards team performance metrics safety metrics and best practices
Utilize and update the stock management system (SAP) following task completion
Allocate materials to process orders using SAP
Conduct and lead routine stock checks ensuring accurate inventory levels
Maintain personal training records within the companys quality management system (Master Control)
Provide training to new and developing staff members conducting proficiency reviews as needed
Follow defined processes to build batch manufacturing records print labels and use accurate materials and equipment for product creation
Conduct Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP) reviews of batch manufacturing records
REQUIREMENTS:
We are seeking candidates who possess:
Previous manufacturing experience (preferred but not required)
Excellent literacy and numeracy skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to follow written instructions precisely and record data accurately
Proficiency in computer use including email and SAP systems
