Job Summary
The First-Party Property Coverage Attorney will play a key role in a growing and sophisticated property insurance practice handling high-exposure coverage disputes from pre-suit evaluation through litigation and resolution. This position offers substantial hands-on responsibility direct client interaction and meaningful courtroom experience. Ideal for an attorney looking to deepen technical coverage expertise while advancing toward long-term partnership opportunities within a collaborative high-performing team.
Responsibilities
- Manage first-party property coverage disputes from inception through resolution
- Conduct pre-suit coverage analysis and provide strategic recommendations
- Draft pleadings motions and coverage opinions
- Take and defend depositions including Examinations Under Oath (EUOs)
- Participate in mediations hearings and court appearances
- Collaborate with team members on litigation strategy and case development
- Communicate effectively with clients carriers and opposing counsel
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in first-party property coverage or insurance defense litigation
- Strong policy analysis and coverage interpretation skills
- Experience handling EUOs depositions pleadings and motions
- Excellent writing analytical and oral advocacy abilities
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Detail-oriented with a team-first mindset
- Active license to practice law in North Carolina or eligibility for admission
Compensations & Benefits
- Base salary ranging from $120000 $180000 DOE non-discretionary bonus opportunities
