With over 100 attorneys the firm offers a collaborative growth-focused environment and a clearly defined path to partnership including potential equity opportunities.

Job Summary
The First-Party Property Coverage Attorney will play a key role in a growing and sophisticated property insurance practice handling high-exposure coverage disputes from pre-suit evaluation through litigation and resolution. This position offers substantial hands-on responsibility direct client interaction and meaningful courtroom experience. Ideal for an attorney looking to deepen technical coverage expertise while advancing toward long-term partnership opportunities within a collaborative high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Manage first-party property coverage disputes from inception through resolution
• Conduct pre-suit coverage analysis and provide strategic recommendations
• Draft pleadings motions and coverage opinions
• Take and defend depositions including Examinations Under Oath (EUOs)
• Participate in mediations hearings and court appearances
• Collaborate with team members on litigation strategy and case development
• Communicate effectively with clients carriers and opposing counsel

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in first-party property coverage or insurance defense litigation
• Strong policy analysis and coverage interpretation skills
• Experience handling EUOs depositions pleadings and motions
• Excellent writing analytical and oral advocacy abilities
• Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Detail-oriented with a team-first mindset
• Active license to practice law in North Carolina or eligibility for admission
