Job Summary

The firm is seeking a First-Party Property Coverage Attorney to join its Charlotte-based practice. This role focuses on sophisticated first-party property coverage matters from pre-suit analysis through litigation. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful and motivated attorney who enjoys detailed policy analysis strategic problem-solving and client interaction. This position is well suited for an attorney looking to deepen coverage expertise while working in a fast-paced team-oriented environment with strong support and advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Handle first-party property coverage matters at all stages including pre-suit analysis and litigation
• Analyze insurance policies and evaluate coverage positions
• Conduct examinations under oath and defend or take depositions
• Draft pleadings motions and written discovery
• Attend mediations hearings and other court proceedings
• Assist with case strategy evaluation and resolution
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
• Maintain accurate billing and comply with reporting guidelines

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing with the applicable state bar or ability to obtain licensure
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience handling first-party property or coverage matters
• Strong legal writing analytical and oral advocacy skills
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple matters
• Collaborative team-first mindset
