Physics Teacher
Job Description:
The DePaul College Prep Science Department seeks a collaborative energetic and positive educator for the role of a physics teacher. The ideal candidate is a qualified and experienced teacher with the following characteristics:
- Values and seeks to understand the cultural and social identities of each student in their class;
- Ability to integrate culturally responsive practices into daily teaching;
- Knowledgeable of high school level physics curriculum and NGSS Standards;
- Knows state standards regarding proper lab safety protocols;
- Communicates and collaborates with peers effectively as sharing of lab space and materials is often required;
- Ability to set up and safely facilitate labs to ensure that students are safe;
- The ideal candidate will have their secondary teaching licensure/certificate;
- A solid foundation in Google Classroom or other technology applications is necessary for a one-to-one classroom environment.
Qualifications:
BS degree in Physics
Illinois PEL (teacher certification)
MA/MS or MEd preferred
