The Greater Los Angeles VA Health Care System is seeking 1 experienced full time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in Nursing Service for its CBOC San Luis Located in San Luis CA.
Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse/Team Leader the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing care to the Veteran patient with consideration to psychosocial cultural and age specific needs. Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to provide a full range of practical nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavior problems and knowledge of age specific differences from the adult or older population. Maintains acceptable standards within the health care setting and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician. Provides nursing care in accordance with the overall philosophy of Ambulatory Care Service. Performs as designated by appropriate supervisor nursing care required to meet the nursing needs of the patients to include but not limited to; sets up and plans in advance for any clinic urgent care activity anticipates needs of patients and providers prepares patient for exams obtains appropriate equipment and supplies without being reminded obtains and records vital signs and required information to level appropriate for area of work.
Preferred Experience: 1-2 years of acute care experience and primary care experience
Work Schedule: Full Time Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. May included Holidays.
