Overview
As a Load Plannerfor Americas Logistics LLC you will be instrumental in streamlining all aspects of the freight transportation process for our drivers and partner this job you will play a pivotal role in ensuring all the freight from American Foods Group LLC processing facilities are covered by Americas Service Line LLC and partner carriers.
As a Load Planner you will:
- Assume responsibility for load planning optimization and scheduling of all loads focusing on all plant & cold storage facilities loads.
- Be a pivotal link between our Transportation Supervisor and Driver Managers utilizing carriers to cover all freight for American Foods Group and reporting all inbound equipment to the proper area planner.
- Respond to customer and operational needs by answering e-mails phone calls tracking shipments and moving shipments.
- Prepare reports for internal distribution.
- Provide load exception investigation and reporting.
- Utilize customer or consignee website for appointments.
- Coordinate with driver managers to ensure on-time delivery by estimating times of arrival and delivery and recovering loads when necessary.
- Provide coverage for other team members when out of office.
- Maintain working relationships with customers and co-workers to facilitate the functions of transportation.
- Ensure maximum utilization of all outside carriers.
- Identify and onboard new carriers based on compliance requirements when business requires.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to interface with all levels of internal and external staff.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the United States.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related tools.
- Must have working knowledge of FMCSA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education.
- Experience with other applications including transportation management systems (Lean Logistics McLeod and Samsara).
- 2-3 years experience in Load Planning.
- Professional email and phone etiquette.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to perform as an effective team member.
