Overview
The Patient Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for managing complex patient scheduling including multi-service appointments diagnostic tests and surgeries ensuring timely access and adherence to regulatory requirements. The role verifies insurance coverage secures prior authorizations and updates patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system ensuring accuracy and compliance. The role also coordinates with clinic staff mentors junior staff and contributes to process improvements to optimize patient scheduling and access.

- Manage complex scheduling andrescheduling forappointments procedures diagnostic tests surgeries and hospital admissions across multiple providers ensuring compliance with protocols and regulations.
- Greet and check in patientsassistwith required forms and prioritize urgent cases to supporttimelyaccess to care.
- Coordinate multiservice appointments managehighvolumephone calls and streamline scheduling workflows.
- Work closely with clinic staff and patients to secureprecertifications insurance details and financial information.
- Provide patients with appointment instructionsprevisitrequirements and clear communication to support understanding.
- Verify insurance coverage obtain prior authorizations and arrange interpreter services or special accommodations as needed.
- Organize departmental records and prepare patient outcome reports to supporttimelyfollowupand communication.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalentis.
- Associates degree in Business Administration Healthcare oranotherrelated field is preferred.
Experience:
- Atleast three years of customer service or healthcare related experience is required.
- Three or more years experience working in a medical office performing duties such as scheduling patient check-ins insurance verification andmaintainingmedical records is preferred.
